“And truly, if they had been
mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had
opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, a
heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath
prepared for them a city.” Hebrews 11: 15-16
It is not just enough that we
have dreams, idea or a particular destination we which to achieve at the end of
our days on earth. We have to act on it and also follow due process. Some have
dreams, they acted on act but never follow due process and at the end of their
life they were disappointed and disqualified. Some got to the end of their
lives and gave out a horrific exasperation ‘Oh! How have I hated instruction’
but for them it was too late and for us to avoid this same mistake they did we
must both careful and mindful about the way we handle our lives.
Weave into our deep consciousness
is the desire to achieve a goal or better still achieve life destination. To
achieve such destination or goal, we must make use of our God given idea. Idea
is like a bird flying in the air, if you are daring enough you will catch it.
We also don’t lurk around for idea we run to meet it. Some wish, some think,
some dream but never acted on the idea that is expected to get them to their
life’s destination.
Some even acted on it but never
follow due process. It is of great importance that we know how to handle what
the creator has given unto us, because according to (Ecclesiastes 10:15) ‘The
labour of the fools weary every one of them, because they know not how to go to
the city.’ This points to us the need for a guide lest at the end of our life
on earth, we groan bitterly because we could not attain to our goals and
calling. Also, Proverbs 2:17, talks of a youth that has forgotten her guide and
the covenant of her God; such a youth is bound for failure. We have not walked
this world before and the fearful thing is that we can only live for once,
because it is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment. We
also can only learn backwards yet life must be lived forward. These above
realities constrain us, the necessity to search for the right path despite all
the different alluring call that is around us. We need to shout out ‘men and
brethren, what must I do’ because we dare not live and die as failures. It is a
dent on God's face for me to attain to the second position of life when he has
given all that is necessary for me to attain the first position. I must work
and walk
As I conclude, from the verses
above, a great lawyer argued and makes a simple yet pungent universal truth; to
go back to the past we have known is really simple, just do nothing and history
is settles for you but if you desire a new sphere, a new publication, a new
achievement, a new space among life achievers, a better reward in heaven, a
position among God’s general then you must walk and work. It is disheartening to
find men fasting and praying to God to open doors when He has given them the
key already. The brain, eyes, hands, legs, heart, mouth and life’s gifts he has
given us is not for decoration or safe keeping, it is for use. He gave us to utilize
them in this word after all in eternity they will all be worthless. We must
WALK and WORK till we get to our eternal destination.
Eternity is real and a walk with
Jesus and a work for Jesus will guarantee eternal rest. All other walk and work
will end in eternal damnation in hell.
